Intellectual School was founded in 2003 according to the decision of Moscow Educational Department. Our school program is specifically designed to meet the special needs of gifted children. The school is dedicated to provide a highly individualized educational experience for pupils of 5-11 forms.
Many teachers of our school are practicing scientists and have academic degrees. Fundamental to our program is personalized, student-centered instruction, achieved through small group settings. Each pupil has the opportunity to choose the appropriate level of difficulty for each subject. In senior school further specialization is provided in response to pupils’ priorities. Senior pupils are streamed into three classes, or the departments of humanities, physics and mathematics, chemistry and biology.
We encourage academic practices. Supplementary and elective courses constitute an important direction in the school’s strategy. We offer a wide range of special courses and “circles”. You need not be our pupil to attend elective courses, as they are available for all comers.
Different excursions and research expeditions take place during holidays, especially in summer. You can also join Intellectual Summer schools.
Intellectual is a boarding school, where pupils can stay from Monday till Saturday (except holidays). Children live in clean, comfortable dormitories. The school canteen provides six meals a day (free of charge). Intellectual School is a state educational institution, so parents pay no fees.
